Slots, is There a Strategy
I’d have to agree but also acknowledge the money management strategy that at least lends itself to the odds, i.e. .40 bet from a $50 bankroll gives a minimum of 125 wagers on the worst of days and that is right around how often features show up on average. So, it seems to follow that if the bankroll increases, so can the size of the wager. Another line of thinking is to return to original bet size after any decent win, feature etc. which works sometimes as well. I think Simmo and KK were the first to advocate that, first i read anyway. I used to increase my bets when ahead, but I like to increase my variance as well now… if I’m at the 2 or $3 level I don’t bet all lines.. I might wager $1 on each of three lines, or .50 on six lines, whatever. Of course it decreases my chances, but the rewards are greater when they come. I just randomly do this, not for a series of spins… if I’m at 109 I might spin a couple of 4.50′s or a nine dollar spin then go back to what I was doing, no method to the madness, just random stuff.
Just have to develop a ‘blind eye’ to those lines There can be a bit of an emotional rollercoaster when you get free spins… but all it takes is 3 or more high tier symols to make it worthwhile. The other bonus features don’t matter as they are usually based on bet size.
If you want to try it, just use coin ‘danglers’ at first… if you are betting .20 on an rtg, for instance, and your balance ends in .90 just bet nine lines at a dime each… or seven at a nickle if it ends in .35… you get the pitcha. What really sux is betting only 8c or something and getting free spins so I usually just do the bigger bets at high variance now. That’s why they have the line numbers alongside the reels, so you can manipulate the machine, as simple as clicking the number five, then ramping up the bet per line to $5 each for the last spin of the day, or whenever.
I’ve been playing slots at land based as well as online casinos for a number of years now. I’m more convinced now than ever before that there is no honest foolproof strategy guaranteeing regular wins. Even the low paying (3 reel) jackpot slots like the Blazing 7′s are as hard to read as the more complex video slots.
Yes, you’ll win less often, but the wins will be greater. That’s why I only do it a small percentage of the time. Over time, it would be exactly the same on a fair slot.
It’s been shown that older nine line Microgaming slots are weighted, so it’s imperative to bet all lines on them… but anything after thunderstruck, and all RTG’s are good to go.
A good intro game might be cashapillar.. if you can ever get the hang of where the numbers are in that mess of 100! And it is definitely a game you’d kick yourself over only betting 20 lines if the screen flooded with wilds and the max bet is .02 iirc, so not such a good game unless you just want to play it and can’t afford a buck or two per spin.
I can’t bring myself to do it often on Tut @ 3D, nor Supersuits (as it’s already high variance and only 15 lines max) but Fortune Falls is good because it is lower variance and there are 25 lines.
Not to seem contradictory, but on the other extreme Scary Rich is a good one to bet 5 lines at a dime each.. that gambit has paid $50 more than once The alltime best are golden glove and fruit frenzy.. w/GG it doesn’t matter how many lines you had bet as the H-I-T’s collect on any line during the free spins. And on FF, you can be betting one line, get 5oak, and the free spins will happen with all 25 lines (of course the free spins come 1:25 of the time on average but we’re looking for anomalies with this variation, not a system
On that 3 line victory win for 100, I could have just as well bet one line… the most ‘painful’ are betting four lines at a buck and hitting high tier symbols on line five! It’s right in your face that way and hard to turn a ‘blind eye’.
Your mileage will vary, but I’ve found that with the right luck, it’s a good way to go. Mainly, for me, I would shoot myself or pull my ears off if I just sat there and did .20 spins waiting for the eventual demise of my bankroll… I have to throw in a higher wager at higher variance now and then to remain sane enough to stare at the money-suckin-purdy-picture machine.
